This Privacy Policy explains how MakDev (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit makdev.ai or contact us through it. We collect only what we need to respond to you and to run the website, and we never sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
The website makdev.ai is operated by MakDev, a brand of MakBPO LLC, 440 E. Washington St, Syracuse, NY 13202, United States. MakBPO LLC is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, email contact@makdev.ai.
2. What we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact, project, appointment or free audit forms, we collect the details you enter, which may include:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your company name and website address;
- information about your project, such as goals, requirements, budget range and timeline;
- any files you choose to upload, such as project documentation.
Please do not include sensitive personal data (for example health information) in form submissions or uploaded files.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. Google Analytics also collects usage data, as described in section 5.
3. How we use your data
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare proposals, schedule calls and deliver the free audit you requested.
- To perform a contract with you, or take steps at your request before entering into one.
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix technical problems.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: taking steps before or performing a contract (handling your enquiry), our legitimate interests (security, spam prevention and improving our services), your consent where the law requires it (for example for analytics cookies), and compliance with legal obligations. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the website and our business, and only as far as they need it:
- Hosting: our web hosting provider stores the website, form submissions and server logs.
- Email delivery: an email service sends form notifications to our team.
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (website analytics), Google Search Console (search performance), and Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection on forms).
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public. If our business is reorganised or sold, data may be transferred to the new owner under this policy. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. Cookies, analytics and local storage
- Analytics: Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, uses cookies to measure visits and how pages are used. We ask for your choice in a cookie banner on your first visit. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you click Accept. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can switch them off with Reject. While analytics cookies are off, Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (such as a page view without an identifier) under Google Consent Mode. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Spam protection: Google reCAPTCHA may set cookies and collect device and interaction data when you use our forms. Its use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Preferences: your cookie choice and, if you switch between light and dark mode, your theme are saved in your browser’s local storage. They are never sent to us.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them will not stop the website from working, but form spam protection may require reCAPTCHA to load.
6. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our team and service providers may process data in other countries. When personal data from the EEA or the UK is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and related correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting business relationship, and then for up to 24 months unless a longer period is required by law (for example for contracts and invoices). Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of our Google Analytics account.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected, or your data deleted;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before;
- if you are a California resident, know what personal information we collect and how we use it, request deletion or correction, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@makdev.ai. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
We protect personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and security monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
10. Children
This website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other websites
Our website links to third-party websites such as LinkedIn. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies before sharing data with them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
